About usWe rent a field on a local farm, just 20-30 minutes walk to the Keswick Convention Centre at the new combined Rawnsley and Pencil Factory site (main tent, kids clubs, youth groups and Base Camp). We hire a marquee and use this as our communal area. This year we've gone self-catering! It was a new venture for us in 2023 and we're excited to continue this exciting new opportunity for future camps. Please bring your own cooking equipment or enjoy using the cafes, pubs and restaurants in and around Keswick. Annie's Pantry is a very short walk away on the farm and there you can get amazing bacon butties, coffee and hot chocolate and more. On site are the usual hot and cold running water, toilets and showers as well as a number of picnic benches in the marquee where you can meet to eat your own food.
We aim to run camp to the highest possible safety and hygiene standards and we're continually looking to improve our facilities. Our site is flat and drains well. However, it's a farm field for the rest of the year, and can get muddy! It does rain in the Lake District; three weeks of rain will make any field wet and muddy so bring your wellies and do come prepared. We have had some wet years and also some gloriously hot and sunny ones. Whatever the weather, the Lake District is beautiful! |
We've been holding the camp in Keswick since 1930, first as Sudan United Mission (SUM) Camp, then as Action Partners Camp - and now Springs Camp. We've always had a strong mission focus and enjoyed links with SUM and Action Partners. We're now linked to Pioneers UK as a camp with mission at its heart.
